Many view the universe (the one we all live in) as just a big machine, a cold mechanical thing that was made somehow then left to operate all on its own, including us! Without any inkling of its beingness or clue to what we came from or why. “Came from” suggests that once upon a time in the fairy tale past the universe was made.
