594 – Fully Present in Your Body, Fully Present in Your Heart
Closing down to the experience of vulnerability can mean dissociating from the body. John shares a simple way to become more present however uncomfortable we feel.
Q: I would like some clarity about the void, which seemed to have no movement, no fear, no thing, and yet everything.
John: If you’d like to have clarity about it, go right into it. Enter it.
Q: Is that where we go when we go to sleep at night?
John: Not when you go to sleep, but the tipping point of falling to sleep. Once you have fallen asleep you enter a different process as awareness than what you’re familiar with in your waking life.
Q: So when we come out of sleep, does awareness enter a new body and a new moment?
John: You re-enter your waking existence. Your experience of your self is different when you’re sleeping than when you’re awake and it is what you are, what you return to when you approach falling asleep. It’s that tipping point into sleep where you’re being what you really are.
When you lie down to go to sleep, it’s a matter of time and everything that you’re familiar with in your life begins to pass away. As you near sleep, the meaning of your personality is gone, your past and your day is gone and what you are being right as you tip into sleep is so extremely removed from anything that you’re familiar with in your day. What you are there is just awareness being, and you’re not using anything that you’re familiar with to be, and you are deeply at home in that.
What you are as awareness in that is altogether relaxed. What you are being is pure you: not you adorned with your self, not you adorned with your subconscious self. After you’ve fallen asleep you are present as your subconsciousness. When you are awake, you are present as your conscious self believing that your experience of your self is you knowing your self. The knowing of your self has to include your subconsciousness. If your subconsciousness isn’t free to come up into your conscious self, then you don’t yet really know your self. You’re only familiar with the conscious aspects of your self. The two need to be free, each to be free in the other.
As you tip into sleep, you are being what you really are, un-polarized, so you leave your polarization and as you fall asleep, you enter it again, but you enter its subconsciousness. You go into your conscious self and then your subconscious self, back and forth until, as you open in each, you begin to realize. You don’t realize through your thinking and your feeling. You don’t realize through the use of your self. You realize by you awareness opening in the midst of your self as it is and in the midst of your subconscious self as it is, which frees the two to come together. As they come together, you get to really know your self.
As you are then knowing your self, the whole of your self, you are being what you really are in the midst of your self, which is you as a being integrating your self. When you are being what you really are in the midst of your self, conscious and subconscious, you exist, instead of as an identity with your conscious self, you exist as a being in the midst of form that isn’t like you yet: you, a being, existing within your self that you experience as being polarized, and what you’re being in your self isn’t polarized.
By you being the same as your being in the midst of the self that isn’t like your being yet, your self relaxes and opens, and over time changes and becomes the same as what you’re being in it. Your self becomes just like your being.
As you’re being this, your genetics are not in the way, your past is not in the way, the condition of your self isn’t in the way. There isn’t anything in your way. Nothing prevents you, and as you’re being this, everything is helping you.
What you are entering is so not like your self, but it is so you.
Believe what you know in this. It’s so lovely to meet in this with you.
Q: Thank you so much.
