684 – No Striving, No Tension: The Simplicity of Authentic Presence
A teaching on the simplicity of real presence, exposing the many ways that longing, hope and desire can come between you and what you love the most.
Q: There’s been a very sweet stilling of my forms, and the space inside of me. It has a tangible silence. In spite of its apparent emptiness, I know it’s my home. You were speaking about how what we’re being shifts, our reason for doing completely transforms. In this I have no picture of doing in my life. Can you share more about nothing, doing?
John: It is you, awareness, using the forms and the powers of your self to do, using thought, feeling, will and emotion to do, and using all of that with the body to form an action without any of that movement – the use of self, the person and the body for awareness to have physicalized movement, without the self or the person being a reference point within that movement. There’s no self-reference within the use of the self to move, to do. That means that you really are free from what you’re doing and in what you’re doing: innocence doing, love doing. A being that has a heart, that has a self, a personality and a whole life. A being, doing in life. It’s magical. It’s golden. It’s solidly real and true. It is the dream of your self come true. Nothing and nobody given personality and a life.
Q: I can see in this, in the sweetest way, that what is mostly registered as me in my life isn’t real. I’m seeing how, in that nothing and no one, I can so easily relate differently inside. I can really hear that level newly.
John: That’s you coming into a re-oriented nervous system, all made by and turned by this difference of what you are being in your body. The newness of what you are being in your body is turning your nervous system. This difference in your nervous system is attuned to what you are as a being. It registers in your body the movement of being in your body. It registers the forms of your being. It registers the varying levels of love in how your being moves. Each level of being moves as a different level of love: a whole world of forms of love, of registerable differences in how a being moves in all of its different levels, how that moves in the body, how that moves in thought and feeling, how that moves in willingness, how that moves in sublime emotion. You’re coming into more of the fullness of what you were born for.
Q: I’m so loving how this touches me, how it moves me, and I’m feeling this play of movement from you to me, and from me to you, and it dances and it ebbs and it flows.
John: Being and being together: the interactive, intermingling of beings in how we pool and stream together.
Q: Is there anything you can say about how I can support the beingness movement of these pools and streams? It’s clear to me it’s not a strictly passive thing, and I know that I can include the self in that. So how to stay with what I’m giving and receiving in that real movement?
John: Perspective, or the lack of it, is there in life. Perspective is what rules the self. It’s what governs its experience. You are free to let what you know you’re in, what’s moving in you that isn’t like your self, you’re free to let what you know in all of this turn into perspective, which alters your perspective in life. That alters what moves your self, what governs your self. It changes what your self is for. It changes the meaning of your self.
Self-preservation has everything to do with securing the safety and the ground of our lived-in perspectives. Without those perspectives we lose our sense of self. When those perspectives are loosened, altered, alchemized by what you are as a being flooding your self, your self shifts and changes, in its makeup, what holds it together, what moves it, what its meaning is. It’s what makes the self not just actual, which it already is, but actual and real instead of actual but all illusory … lived forms of illusion. Instead of actual but not real, actual and real. Love in self form. Humanness, greater and greater depths of humanness.
Q: There’s this extreme sense of forward movement. It’s like I’m on the very front point of a rocket ship, utterly vulnerable, and loving it. Thank you.
