685 – Realizing Deeper Levels of Knowing and Meaning
John uses simple examples to illustrate the critical relationship between awareness and knowing, and the subtleties of its connection to honesty, truth and meaning.
Q: Hello John.
John: Hello.
Q: Sometimes, I talk with people and I feel like I can connect with their soul, but I’m really not sure if it is their soul or if it’s something else.
John: It doesn’t really matter. If you are asking between the difference in what you see in others that means that you are seeing something deeper than their self and you’re seeing also something different that’s deeper than their self. So you’re recognizing two different things. To have the labels correct doesn’t matter; what matters is you know you see two deeper things and they’re different. That you see matters and that you know something in what you see matters.
Q: Another question I have is sometimes I feel like a flow of energy. It was very strong, it wasn’t like usual. It felt like a bit of darkness. I don’t know what to do with it. I don’t know what it is.
John: It’s you, but it is an unknown level of you, unknown to you but known in the sense that you know it’s there – just not recognizable as you. It links to what you were before you were in a body.
Q: So, the real me.
John: It’s deeper than the real you. It’s the original you. The real you is made up of elements and aspects of the original you that you’re being now. Most of the aspects of the original you are unknown to you. These original aspects have no relationship to your self, to this world, to anything that you’ve learned. They have no relationship to human experience. So from the perspective of human experience and from the perspective of your life, you wouldn’t recognize these aspects of original you.
Q: Do I return to my original me after I leave my body, or something else?
John: Something else. What you’ll be after you’ve died, it isn’t a return to what you were before. It’ll be a mix of what you were before and what you’ve been of what you knew while you live.
Q: So how I live my life in a way forms how I live after.
John: Yes.
Q: That makes sense. So should I give more to the original me? How do I connect more to that?
John: How to connect to that is by not just you being what you know, but you being resonance of something that you know that you have no understanding of, no frame of reference for, no seeing in, but with such a deep level of listening within, you know something that isn’t at all like your self, it’s not like your life, it’s not like anything you’ve experienced in life, it’s not like anything you’ve learned. And with a depth of listening into that level of resonance, that’s the beginnings of you being aspects of what you were before you were in a body, and just by virtue of being that resonance, you’re starting to come back into what you were. By being that resonance while you live, that aspect of original you speed-develops.
Q: And when I die what happens?
John: It gives you more mobility as the being you were before you came here in a body, and it gives you more mobility as a humanly-formed being because of being what you knew while you were in a body. Being love in self form is humanness.
Q: So like if someone isn’t spreading love within their self, in a way they are lacking humanness?
John: Yes.
Q: Do you think that more people are going to be expressing love through their self?
John: Because of the resonance of truth moving on the earth plane, yes. Because of the times in the world, there’ll be some increase of humanness, where there’s sincerity in the midst of pressure, but there’ll also be a decrease of humanness because of people pandering to fear, concern, giving into anxiety instead of just staying in the heart in the midst of difficulty, in the midst of a change of times in the world.
Q: But why give into something that’s not real even if your environment is surrounded by people giving into that? Then I do think there is a possibility for people to open to goodness?
John: Yes. As openness in you matters more to you than your self, then goodness will thrive in the midst of your self even in really difficult circumstances. Instead of corrupting because of the onslaught of difficulty, real you, goodness, thrives.
These unseen nurturing qualities within that you’re referring to, that you’re sensitive to, as you’re relating to these qualities within, this unseen level of you is going to grow. It’s going to be slowly taking over your senses, all of your senses. It will take over your sense of self. It will take over all meaning in your life: a being consciously having presence in the world, not at all like the world.
Q: How come the world isn’t all like that? If they knew the truth, they would change their life. I feel like a lot of people want to know this, the truth.
John: The world is made of the most dominant forms. The world is made of dominance, whereas the real within doesn’t move as dominance; it moves as most tender weakness. It doesn’t relate to strength, it doesn’t relate to dominance, it doesn’t relate to power. It relates as flow. The world is made of the loudest voices. It isn’t made of real voices, realness voices.
Q: How come?
John: Dominance and loudness move by emotion and mind. It doesn’t require honesty, it doesn’t require realness. It relates to force, might, power, advantage, and with that much energy it builds form very quickly, and the stronger forms are what make the world. Any realness that’s in the world doesn’t make the world.
The world is made of emotionally packed beliefs. The belief in careers. The better your career, the more powerful your career, the stronger your sense of self can be. The more money you have, the more secure, the more form there is to your sense of self. These dominant beliefs that move the world, that make the world, keep it so. They’re the easiest visible structures to align to. It requires only your thinking, your emotions and your sense of self. It doesn’t require any heart, it doesn’t require realness, it doesn’t require a quietedness within, a settledness within. It requires only movement of mind and emotion, and form quickly builds and stays. It’s easy for it to come together, it’s difficult for it to come apart because there is so much form to it. It forms in the nervous system, so the nervous system within any kind of a self-centeredness is aligned with what dominates in this world.
Q: How can something so limited be the main force in our world? I’m sure a lot of people eventually know the truth because there’s people that have figured it out themselves, but isn’t it harder for people to get out of that bubble by themselves?
John: Yes. It’s deeply difficult to be what’s delicately real, within, in an indelicate and not real world, in a world that relates to gain and loss, in a world that relates to dominating, in a world that relates to judgment. As soon as you start to judge what’s real based on thought and feeling, you begin to lose your innocence. You start losing touch with most delicate beingness within that isn’t based on thought and feeling, it’s based on an un-understood, deep inner flow, most delicate movements of being.
As soon as you start to relate to what you think and what you feel, that quickly turns into emotion, and emotion is really powerful. It builds form quickly. As soon as you have a negative thought about someone, that has limited power, but as soon as you give that negative thought your emotion, that negative thought is greatly empowered and lodges in your nervous system. It starts to take over your body, it will limit your thinking and your feeling. You lose the delicate freedom within of feeling what you know but can’t see and don’t understand. Emotion locks in the body thought forms. You can easily move around independent bricks but when you put all of the bricks together with mortar, which are like emotion and judgment, and you form it, that building really holds. It can be taken apart, but not without a great deal of energy. Whatever you form through thinking, feeling secured with emotion really holds in your body.
A being doesn’t move emotionally and mentally. It doesn’t move by gross, dense form. A being moves by unseen form, most delicate streams of love. It moves by unseen qualities within that don’t offer an emotional satisfaction or a mental satisfaction; it offers only nurture. As soon as you switch and shift to being oriented to immediate satisfaction by moving as emotion, you can have an instant fix but there isn’t nurture in it, there isn’t the realness of what you really are in it. And when you start to move that way it’s difficult to undo. The more form you build of density and coarseness, the more powerfully that holds a sense of you, which is really just a sense of your self, and the deep delicate you in the midst of that becomes covered.
There’s a whole world of being, within. You can’t find it through any sense of your self; your sense of self relates through feeling, emotions, and thinking, whereas this world of being within relates only to love, to goodness – the kind of goodness that isn’t made of principles, that isn’t made of thought. It’s made of beingness. It’s goodness that has no opposite. It’s what you see in a baby’s face. What’s there in the baby doesn’t know anything else.
The more that you buy into emotion-fortified thinking, beliefs, the more you lose touch with the real within. The real within doesn’t relate to emotion, it doesn’t relate to thought, it doesn’t relate to feelings, but this realness within beautifully shows through thought, through feeling and through emotion. The easiest manifestation to see of that is the innocence of a child.
Q: So how do you maintain a baby’s innocence throughout a whole life when the source of this world isn’t love?
John: By you moving as this love, the love within. As you move as this love, the love within means more to you than your self, your time, your opinions, your thinking, your feeling, your emotions, your will. Because the love within means more to you than all of your form, it requires none of your forms for you to be this love. It requires no will, no effort, it isn’t based on emotionally-charged beliefs, it isn’t based on your thinking or your feeling; it’s based on you. This you – if you’re being it, the love – this you is free of all form. It isn’t dependent on form to be. But as it moves, as it flows, as you’re being just what you really are deeply within, being that in your feelings, in emotion, in thinking, these gross self forms will develop by virtue of what’s being in it, instead of these self forms developing because you’re in this world and you’re using thought, feeling, will and emotion to have place in this world. You remain in your innocence by just nurturefully being you, that isn’t based on the forms of your self. It isn’t based on what you understand and see in the world, it isn’t based on what others are like; it’s based on just what you really are, and you being that in your self as it is and in this world as it is, at any personal cost.
It’s profoundly simple. It isn’t easy. Ease and difficulty relate to your experience in your self. The self, the mind, is full of lack, it isn’t complete. It’s made of incomplete genetics. Being what you really are in a self that isn’t like you manifests the difference between you and your self: you nurturefully complete, happy without a reason, in a self that is imperfect, incomplete, under-developed, which registers difficulty in everything. If you had a self as complete as you really are, you wouldn’t be able to register difficulty. You wouldn’t in your self relate to ease and difficulty.
As soon as you’re being what you really are in a self that isn’t like you, you see your self for what it is. You know within that your self, your sense of self, isn’t it. These deep inner qualities are it. The movement and the streaming of being, the love, within, is it. As you’re being that love in a self that isn’t like that yet, your self will change. It’ll become what you’re being in it. If you’re self-oriented in your self, you are limited to that self. You can be only your self but not the great depth within. And your self, because of being oriented to what is inherently incomplete, gets worse. But if you’re being the love within, your self slowly becomes the same. Your self will develop and change because what you’re being in your self is already complete.
Your self will grow into completeness without you working on your self, just by virtue of you being what you really are, unconditionally, at any personal expense, in the midst of your self, in all circumstance and in the world.
Q: Thank you.
