A Simple Shift: Becoming a Catalyst of Change

Q: What is the role of the unconscious in relationship to the levels of awareness? I do understand that the unconscious mind holds many aspects that pertain to the personality and things we don’t like seeing about our selves, all the memory base that we are as human beings, but I know that there is deeper levels than those that hold that kind of information or data.

John: Your subconscious self holds the reasons to your conscious and behavioural self. In a self-orientation, awareness naturally keeps the two separate, creating a barrier between the two, like a floor. A defense is held within the conscious and behavioural self against the subconscious self. Within a truth and a knowing orientation, you know, with or without understanding, to not have that barrier between the two. You intuit that you need no floor, bringing you as awareness in touch with the whole of your self.

Knowing is the space from which you integrate the whole of your self. Knowing is embedded in your self and in your subconscious self. Honesty puts you into touch with the knowing in your self and with the knowing in your subconscious self. An orientation to the knowledge of the truth connects knowing everywhere in you: knowing in what is deeper than your self and knowing in your subconscious and conscious self. With a truth-orientation, what you are, what you are relating to, is to the continuity of truth everywhere, within; the continuity of knowing. In a self-orientation, awareness is loyal to what it needs to be true, what it wishes to be true. There, the conscious self needs to be kept separate from the unconscious self.

In a self-orientation, your continuity is your experience, and it’s a selective experience. The unconscious is what is completely beyond your self, beyond your conscious awareness and beyond your subconscious self. Having a barrier between your conscious self and subconscious self protects you from drifting as awareness into what is beyond your self. It protects you from awakening. Within a truth-orientation, loyalty shifts to knowing. With that simple shift is the beginning of the end of your personal reality.

When awareness shifts its loyalty and its belonging, its orientation, to knowing, knowing becomes its reality, despite what it experiences in itself, despite any upheaval of the subconscious self into the conscious self. In a knowing and truth orientation, awareness aligns with knowing at any cost and at all levels. Unconscious reality merges into the subconscious self creating upheaval, and the subconscious self merges into the conscious self creating upheaval. The perception of reality, the personal experience of reality, all comes apart and becomes reconstituted, based only on the continuity of knowing.

Your conscious and behavioural self is then merely an influence and a voice. It’s not your reality anymore. Knowledge of the truth is your reality, which is completely contrary to the makeup of your self, putting your self into a context that doesn’t come from your self. This puts your self into place. It’s there for the manifestation of the truth, within. It’s there to bring what you are, the continuity of knowing, into manifestation and into form. It’s what your self is for. Your self is the arena within which all of this happens.

Q: And all of that happens just by changing orientation. It’s a turning that awareness does, and what causes that to happen?

John: Core-splitting honesty. The more that awareness is honest, the more awareness knows. When your actions come from a truth-orientation, your entire personal reality is subject to reconstitution. Your own self, conscious and subconscious, with the floor between being removed, becomes proving ground for all that is unseen.

Q: What do you mean with “proving ground”?

John: The ground for manifestation, with that ground revealing what you’re coming from by reflecting it to you. Having form, having a self, constantly proves to you what you are being and what you’re coming from.

When you rationalize a position in your self, when you rationalize an action, an attitude, you’re living proof in form of what you’re coming from, whether you understand it or not.
When you are honest as awareness to knowing, you know more than what your actions are of. You know more than what you say. You know more than what you think and what you feel. With a truth-orientation, knowing and its continuity is your first light. It’s what first determines what really is and what really is not. It removes your self and what you experience in your self as being the centre of everything. In a truth-orientation, the continuity of knowing is your reality and you move your forms, its structures, to match that…to match you. The pressure of being in form deeply and wholesomely tests what you’re coming from. It serves to prove you.

To have resistance in your self, to even listen to resistance in your self, generates a self-orientation. Instead of resisting anything, you can be oriented to what you know the truth of and believe everything you know the truth of, and what you don’t know you won’t believe. Within a truth-orientation, what you are as awareness is the continuum of believing knowing. You don’t need to resist what you don’t know; you are in belief of what you do know. The continuum of believing knowing is your only way. By that you form your self. That makes your self a self of change.

As you integrate your self from within the continuity of knowing, you begin to come into what you are as consciousness. The truth of consciousness is far beyond the truth of reality. The more it is awakened, the more it encompasses, until it encompasses greater reality and the backdrop to greater reality – greater reality being the backdrop to reality.

Manifesting greater reality in your self makes your self an anomaly in reality. Your self becomes a manifestation of greater reality within reality. You are a catalyst of change. You exist as a catalyst of change in reality.
