This interviewer wants to get at how John’s teachings can open the territory many of us share – the world of relationship and sexuality. What gives relationship a true foundation? How can sexuality go deeper than want and need? You speak of connectivity and dearness, John, but how can we relate to that when we don’t like each other? These questions and more are worked out in this dialogue.

The Questioner feels guilty and trapped in her inability to deal with the pain of others. She knows that separating from them or confronting them doesn’t help. John shows her how a simple return to openness and softness of heart allows the cycle of their pain and hers to end… in her.

The wish to return to oneness is unravelled for us in this talk. John uses analogies to reveal how wishing and longing separate us from what we long for, and explains how only being the same as the direct knowledge fuelling our wish can return us to oneness.

A young man would like to be free of the conditioning and judgments he knows are present in his sexuality and asks for help. John explains in practical terms how sexuality can be returned to the heart, freeing judgments held in the body and bringing balance and healing.

The Questioner is asking about something called a touchstone that is used to find what is gold and what is not gold. and something called the philosopher’s stone that turns base metal into gold. Which one is real?

Is it possible to move past the sudden loss of a loved one? Can we be free of the fear that it may bring up about the inevitability of our own death? The answer to both questions, is yes.

In this talk, John explains that it is openness and softness of heart, in every little thing in life, that can become your beloved master. When you live being a servant to openness and softness of heart, that is you finding and living with the beloved within.

Through the story of meeting with a beggar, a man speaks of his sense of continually coming up against a threshold within that he knows will take him deeper, but which he cannot seem to pass through. John explains that this is an illusory threshold created by beliefs, and that the way through is by way of a complete return to innocence.

We are all connected to others, and form bonds with them in our lives. What are these bonds for? Why are some bonds deeper than others, or carry more meaning for us? What is it that moves in a bond and what is the chemistry? All of this and more is discussed in this dialogue.

A woman is feeling a lack of love towards her husband, often being annoyed by his behaviour and feeling superior to him. John shows her how to find the touch of dearness, the real connectivity, where surface annoyances becomes terms of endearment.
