“What matters supremely in our lives is what we are being in the midst of our selves, in the midst of what we’re experiencing, and in the midst of our circumstances.” —John de Ruiter
The video “ Finding Meaning in Life from Day to Day ” is part 7 of 11 from an interview with John de Ruiter in Netanya, Israel.
Excerpt from this video:
“When aware, when awareness becomes still such as in meditating, when you meditate you’re settling out of the use of the forms of your self.
When you enter meditation what takes place is awareness just simply becomes still, regardless of what, regardless of what it is experiencing.
The stillness within awareness is a stillness of the activity, it’s a stillness of the activity of one’s self. Within that stillness our awareness becoming quiet, there’s a realization of a presence within that isn’t like the presence or the experience of our selves. When we realize, when we’re quieted, there’s a value of that presence within, of that stillness or the quiet within because there’s a natural nurture to it.
That openness and softness within the quietness nurtures what we are because it is what we really are, so then we, we come to a realization of the truth of the nurture of that quietness and the nurture of being still as awareness.“
