Q: I wanted to ask about how to bring this awareness and consciousness into the surface layers, and you gave me a keyword: you said honesty. You be honest. There will be ways and people that are dear to me that are going to be affected by it, and you told us that it matters less than to be true to what you know. I was imagining myself in the bottom of the ocean where it’s quiet and deep and centred, and I could see the surface waves that my current life is in. I would like some guidance how to bring this to the surface. How do I combine this deep level into my daily life?
John: When you’re in the interactions of your life, you’re engaging your person, your personality. As you engage your personality, be honest to your self, to what is quietly clear in your self, a level deeper. While you’re being honest to your self, as you’re engaging your personality in your activities, be honest to what you know in your heart, a level deeper than your self.
In this way through these different levels of honesty, you’re building what is like a stairway within. Its direction is clear to you. The direction is in, and the direction is deeper. And then in having presence in your stairway while you’re in your personality, which gives context to your personality, be aware that you cannot see the end of the stairway going in. All you know is that it goes in beyond your heart, way deeper than your own heart.
You have no understanding of what lies beyond, but even just the resonance of it makes you completely still, within. Let that resonance be a part of the whole stairway. It’s what gives you the quiet in the stairway, which opens up a deeper level of your personality; that as much as you’re moving and engaging your personality in your activities in life, there’s a level of your personality that is still. There’s a level of your personality that keeps you in contact with the entire stairway, and there in your personality you have a living touchstone to your entire stairway, within, that takes you into the beyond.
If you lose sight of the stairway while you’re in your personality, you lose sight of its context. You lose sight of its reason, its reason for being. Your personality and your whole life belong to all of the stairway and everything that moves in it. Everything that travels back and forth is what your life belongs to. As you live, you’re being honest to the whole stairway and to the beyond that you know, within, but cannot see or understand.
Honesty means that you recognize what you know and that you open into relaxing into what you know, that at any cost to your self or your life you relax into knowing, deeper knowing, and that you won’t separate from it at any expense. Honesty means that you recognize what you know even if you’re not understanding what it is that you know, and that you’re in agreement with what you know; that your primary movement in anything in life is agreement: not agreement with what you think and feel, not agreement with what you’re experiencing, not agreement with what you see, not agreement with what you see on any level, but agreement with what you know. Agreement with knowing.
Agreement with knowing is honesty. Agreement with knowing is your healing. The presence of that healing is love. It’s a presence that moves. It moves from within all the stairway, from beyond, and into all of your life.
Honesty means that you know, you agree and you love. It’s going to affect all of your relationships. As it does, you remain in knowing, in agreement, and in love. These are your waves from beyond through the stairway into your life.
