What Makes an Ego Lovely?

Q: I know that I have a big ego. Will you create some space in me?

John: Is there more to you than your ego? Do you know if there is more to you than your ego? Are you aware of there being anything deeper in you than your ego?

Q: Yes.

John: Then there is more space in you. That that is deeper in you than your ego, is it of more profound value than your ego?

Q: Yes.

John: Then there is much more space in you than your ego. What will you now do with such knowledge?

Q: Meditate more. Be more aware of when the ego is to the fore and I’m not in my being.

John: As an experience, the experience of you is most predominant in your ego. You can sit in that, occupying the space you know as your ego, and in being that space you can yield to that in you that is more profound and of greater value. That is you opening your self to the more that there is of your self.

You will still, as such, have an ego, but it will be an ego held in perspective by you. You’ll have a responsive ego. You’ll have a profoundly willing ego, an ego that always includes and fits into what it knows within is more, an ego that doesn’t take space but an ego that offers space.

As such, you’ll have a most lovely ego: one that knows its place in the whole of you; one that is as sensitive to every other part of you as it is to itself; an ego that lives in profound fairness to all of the knowledge that it has; an ego that is meaning-sensitive instead of an ego that is predominantly self-sensitive; an ego that is true to all meaning everywhere, within and without; an ego whose pulse is that of oneness; an ego whose form is that of one of many, of oneness; each of your forms then, on account of you, being meaningfully cooperative with the others; every part of you, including your ego, being enlivened by what you are being; every part of you, including your ego, having on account of you, most delicate form all moving as meaning.

On account of your beingness as awareness, every part of you yields to the other by what it knows to yield in, each part of you standing by the other in what it knows to stand in. You would exist and move, on account of your own beingness as awareness, as a symphony. There would be no part of you, on account of your beingness, that holds power against another part.

Q: Thank you.

John: Your ego would then be your face of beingness reflecting all meaning within. You would have the transparent face, within, of knowing – knowing meaning. Your face within would be the face of meaning, all on account of your beingness as awareness within every part of you. Your having eyes would then mean that meaning sees and, by that, meaning speaks; meaning in all forms of you, moving as one awareness.

Q: Thank you, John.
